Jonsi
I came across  a spot for Dulux Paint that featured the same track as a Ford Explorer spot which was aired in this years Super Bowl. Its true music can elevate a spot, but when done right the result is a piece one would forward on to someone (Dulux Paint) versus something that looks forced (Ford).  The track featured in the spots below is Jonsi- Go Do.

The Story of Noma
Whilst in Denmark earlier this year, i tried to get a reservation for two @ Noma, René Redzepi’s acclaimed restaurant, the best restaurant in the world. Of course the waiting list is over a year, so needless to say i wasn’t successful. Here’s the story of Noma courtesy of Phaidon.

Feline Takeover
Kudos to the agency that did this project. It seems a bit arbitrary at first, but their end tag really ties in the whole idea in a very comforting way. I wish an actual IKEA trip could make me feel like ‘home’ now that would be magic.

Poopvertising
This is the best use of Poop for a good cause i’ve seen, i think ever. Finally a good piece of Poopvertising. A British charity WaterAid deployed a remote control poo-on-wheels to raise awareness over how a lack of toilets affects children living in developing nations. Fantastic!

Efterklang @ 4D Sessions
I had the pleasure of seeing Efterklang live a few months ago @ Le Poisson Rouge. I was impressed by their live show, orchestrated beautifully it captured the nuances of their recordings in a refreshing way. Here’s a performance of the track ‘I Was Playing Drums’ from their new album, Magic Chairs.

Meating 2010
I had a once in a year opportunity to be part of a local Meat Swap. Thanks to some good friends we laid our claim on 1/8th of a whole Steer. What we didn’t expect was the Steer to end up weighing in excess of 1000lbs. I’ve never seen so much meat before. Good quality, hormone free, organic, local meat is hard to come by. I’m fortunate to have all this awesome protein to cook...

I like to make food
My lovely wife decided to pick up a nice organic farm raised lamb loin to celebrate a major event. On the menu was a roasted lamb seasoned with fresh herbs, with a side of fresh roasted vegetables and a lemony chick pea puree. (Recipe courtesy of Tyler Florence).
